Rene Leow

Rene founded Emerald Communications in 2003 after roles in journalism (New Straits Times), political communications (Gerakan), and agency life (Ogilvy PR and WYSE Communications). With experience across sectors and a Master’s in Communication Management from the University of South Australia, he leads the team with strategic insight and regional reach through international affiliations.

Senior Associate Consultant

Muhammad Adib Syazwan

Adib oversees key accounts including Google and YouTube Malaysia, with experience spanning campaigns, creator showcases, and industry events. He holds a joint degree in Mass Communication from IACT and the University of Hertfordshire, and also brings creative flair through writing and design. Adib has previously written for online portal Cilisos.my.

Timothy Ong

Timothy holds a Bachelor’s in Corporate Communications from UTAR and has supported PR campaigns for brands such as Google Malaysia, Lam Research, BOH Plantations, and Canon. He also contributes to the team’s creative work, including photography and design.

Balqis Lim

Balqis brings over six years of journalism experience, having written front-page stories, features, and advertorials — most recently for the Tech section of the New Straits Times. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication (Hons) Journalism from UiTM Shah Alam.

Kumar Sivagurunathan

Kumar is an experienced editorial writer with a background in journalism and publishing, including roles at the New Straits Times, Golf Malaysia, and the Malaysia Book of Records. He has written across formats for brands like American Express, Samsung, Sunway Group, and Google Malaysia.

Zarik Zainuddin

Zarik leads the team’s investor relations work, bringing experience from KPMG, CLIQ Energy, and roles in insurance, facilities management, and corporate development. He holds an MBA from the University of Western Australia and a Certificate in Investor Relations from the IR Society (UK), and is a member of MIRA.
