Jiwa SME: Google x Astro Awani collaboration enters second phase

Google Malaysia’s collaboration with premier 24-hour news broadcast channel Astro Awani under the banner of ‘Jiwa SME’ extends into its second phase in October. This new phase continues to present exclusive interviews with top-level Google executives, product tips & tricks and more, revolving around the timely topic of Digital Responsibility.


Astro Awani continued its effort in highlighting the various interviews that have taken place on both its digital and social platforms.


10 exclusive interviews conducted in both live and pre-recorded formats, comprising Google execs and partners, attracted 190k unique viewers on TV and +12.5K views on YouTube.


Google and Awani continue its collaboration in a new phase of Jiwa SME, focusing on online safety, security and privacy, with a kick-off by Google Malaysia Managing Director, Marc Woo and Astro Awani’s Editor-in-Chief, Ashwad Ismail.


Jessica Martin, APAC Head of Privacy, Regulatory, Crisis & Risk talked about the evolution of ads privacy and what it means for the future of businesses in the digital economy as more consumers become increasingly concerned about their online privacy.


Lucian Teo, Online Safety Education Lead shared some helpful tips and resources for families to keep their children safe on the Internet as they spend more time online to learn, play and stay connected during the pandemic.


Irene Jay Liu, News Lab Lead, APAC shared insights into the importance of digital literacy and fact-checking to protect vulnerable groups from misinformation and disinformation.


Guemmy Kim, Director of Account Security and Safety shared insights into Malaysians’ password practices and helpful tips for better password hygiene in line with the year-end shopping season.


Dragana Beara, APAC Head of Google Workspace Customer Engineering shared insights into the various ways organizations and teams can collaborate online.
